This space is a quiet solace. The house was very clean, the "Wi-Fi" signal was very strong, and the atmosphere very peaceful. Walks in this lovely neighborhood only enhanced the restfulness. The porch swing and the songbirds took it over the top for my wife and I. Linda responded very rapidly to a problem that needed attention, and it was corrected within an hour. A truly remarkable and restful experience.
My wife I highly recommend this spot and would eagerly return there. Cozy but spacious. Clean and quiet. Perfect place to unplug from the world for a few days and enjoy the stunning scenery of WV. Lots of places to eat and shop nearby, and there are endless hiking options within reasonable driving distances.
This is an Airbnb that really feels like home! There are books and dishes and art and even gorgeous plants that make it feel so cozy.
Very close to downtown. I plan to stay here again next time I visit Elkins and would recommend it to anyone. Judy's place is like a spiritual retreat. If the home in Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood were real, this would be it. The layout, the furniture, the carpet, the decorations, the home-made paintings - all of it makes for a cozy, comforting, home away from home.
And it is beautifully situated on top of a hill in the charming town of Elkins, West Virginia. The home is sparking clean, absolutely spotless. There are ample pillows and places to sit and chat or think or read, and the shower is hot and strong. And the entire home is virtually silent. Judy's home is solidly in my top five AirBnB experiences.
This house has a great location, gas stations and stores are very close by and seneca rocks is about 40 mins away. Linda gave us a call when the temperature was expected to drop drastically, she made sure we were comfortable and told us to keep the house as warm as we wanted! The lack of a TV did not even phase my boyfriend and I. The house was nicer than expected, but it still has the historical charm.
It was equipped with anything we could have needed. Christi has a book with recommendations of local eateries and such, which was greatly appreciated!
We treated ourselves to dinner at the Forks Inn, and it surely didn't disappoint. Should we visit Elkins again, this will be the first place I check for lodging!
We loved the house and the host! It was spotless, welcoming, comfortable, and spacious. The four of us could each find a spot to relax but also had nice spaces to come together.
Christi had the house well stocked with all the essentials which helped make this an enjoyable stay. Our inquiries and requests were promptly addressed by Christi.
The house is located within a quick drive of all the things Elkins has to offer. It is also located in a nice neighborhood for walking. Overall this was a fantastic experience and we will definitely stay here again in the future. Do not underestimate the value and stylish interior of this venue from the outside picture.
You will find this nicely located home a delight to stay in while visiting Elkins. It is spotlessly clean and full of thoughtful amenities to enhance your stay. We have stayed twice and would stay again in the future. I highly recommend staying here within walking distance to lots of attractions. This place was sparkling clean, she thinks of anything that you may have forgotten. Also willing to accommodate early checking. Very quick at responding when you have questions. I cannot wait too stay here again.
Amazing beautiful home! Christi was very responsive and welcoming! The house is close to several places to dine in and a bar to hang out and a Kroger if you need something quick!
Can wait till I book next month!!! Christi's place was immaculate and so much larger than i expected. The small touches like the throw pillows and blankets really made it feel homey during our stay. Christi herself was a pleasure and was quick to answer any questions we had and gave great recommendations on restaurants in the area.
We will definitely stay with her again! It's a quick ride to the school and center of town -- plus a very nice rail trail for biking is also nearby.
The house was spotless. The 'extras' in the house are great -- from an easy entry system wonderful! All well-thought out and contribute to the home-away-from-home feeling. Christi was a very responsive host as well -- messages were responded to quickly with lots of information.
Extremely accommodating people with a very cozy and clean house. Zero complaints and would highly recommend anyone to stay at their place. Great people. Lisa's homestay exceeded my expectations in many ways. Super comfortable and homey, and Lisa and Brad made for a laid-back atmosphere while being available to answer any questions and fill every need.
Location was quiet and convenient. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Lisa and Brad were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Their unique home is lovely, on a quiet street, but convenient to downtown Elkins. The beds are comfortable, and their home was immaculate. We enjoyed coffee and tea on the back deck in the morning. Everything is updated and convenient, but also felt comfortable. Lisa is expert in giving directions to the local area.
I would not hesitate to stay here again. Top notch hosting from the Martins, as always. A privilege to rest in their clean, comfortable home. My friend and I had a great experience staying at Lisa's home. Both her and her husband offered a friendly welcome upon arrival and showed us everything we could need during our stay with them.
The room was very clean and comfortable offering a clean semi-private bathroom. There was also a nice sitting area to enjoy a morning tea or coffee. If I am ever in the area again I would definitely return to stay at Lisa's home. Lisa's place is super clean and very easy to find, and offers a nice quiet side street to relax, and a huge deck out back to enjoy the outdoors and traveling companions. This was my first experience with AirBnb, and it was great!
Lisa and Brad went out of their way to ensure I had a great space, and were very helpful in suggesting some a great restaurant in town! A magical stay. Margaret and David's property is beautiful and a breath of fresh air. The cozy bedroom is a nice place to relax.
Their description of the home is very accurate - be sure to read. They are friendly, great hosts! I cannot recommend staying here enough.
My wife and I had a terrific stay at Margaret's unique, cozy and unforgettable place. First, the communication was great and Margaret preemptively answered any questions that we may have had. On top of the already great description on her page, she initiated sending us even more info through messages.
I was a little worried about arriving late after 10pmbut Margaret was completely accommodating to our late arrival and still gave us the full tour of the place when we got there. And what a wonderful location they have! The quest room was fantastic for a couple; just a short climb up a ladder and the first thing you notice is the large window adjacent to the bed, which at night provides you with a breathtaking view of the night sky. In the morning, the sun comes through the window and reveals the beautiful forested hills surrounding, and in the beginning of November we were given a vibrant autumnal display, although we wish we would have made it out a few weeks earlier to catch the colors at their best.
The room had plenty of space for us to keep all of our stuff and still have no problem getting ready in the morning and the bed was clean and soft. We also enjoyed the balcony attached to the guest room, which provides yet another excellent way to enjoy the scenery. If you read the description and are still not sure, don't let things like the compost privy scare you; it can be a little cold in the privy but other than that it was completely sufficient.
On top of all this, what we probably enjoyed the most was the times we spent chatting with our hosts, hearing stories about their adventure in West Virginia and sharing musings over life and culture.
Our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer and explore more of the property, so we missed out on seeing the ducks and pigs. Oh yeah, last thing: their kittens were incredibly cute and it's always a bonus when you get to have a cat on your lap while you drink your coffee in the morning!
From the beginning, Margaret was fantastic to work with. I was to stay at her homestead the day before heading off backpacking in the Dolly Sods Wilderness, which she was excited and supportive about. Margaret and David offered to cook us breakfast the day we were to hit the trail, and were hospitable about the hearty menu options.
As well, they were happy to hold a package of rental snowshoes until I arrived. Communication was fantastic and thorough throughout the entire pre-stay process, and there is no one better to work with Unfortunately, I was forced to cancel the trip, but Margaret was very understanding and refunded my visit since I never made it to the homestead.
As well, she went out of her way to ship out the package to the renter for me, since I could not do so. I am excited to hopefully stay at the homestead in the future, as it is comparable to an Appalachian Trail hostel in both price and experience, and I highly recommend even though I never got to stay at the home.
Margaret and David are wonderful hosts, and the Homestead is just the escape from the outside world that I hoped it would be. Margaret is also an excellent cook, with the majority of the food coming right from the Homestead land, so make sure you us regime change in south africa meals!
Cozy space, great brews, great hospitality. My first time staying in a hostel, did not disappoint. Will stay again. You are within walking distance of places to get food and drinks.
If you like craft beer the, bar has a good selection and the house beers are delicious. If you want a great place to stay with a budget price, this is it! Had a great stay here.
Very cozy and clean. The rooftop deck is awesome for watching the train activity from the nearby depot and the giant windmills off in the distance. Their beer downstairs is solid as well. This hostel in downtown Elkins is great. The beer downstairs is tasty. The folks were super friendly.
The view from the rooftop deck is spectacular. There are a few nice restaurants within walking distance. Elkins is a great base for heading into the mountains.
If you're passing through this area for any reason, it doesn't make any sense to not try to stay at Brewstel. The place is wonderful, exactly as advertised, and was the ideal home base for our weekend of drinking and hiking.
From the moment we opened the door, whoa! So cozy and comfortable, everything was just right, beautifully decorated and easy to find. The decor and details were splendid. Wonderful attention to our needs and likes, super clean and cozy. The Charming Brick Home was the perfect weekend getaway. Hannah the host was most helpful. When we visit Elkins or the area again, this is where we will stay. Very comfortable and clean. Close to downtown and restaurants.
Fenced in backyard was perfect for our small fur babies. Our stay at Hannah's place was fantastic! It was very clean. Had all kitchen and bathroom items that were clean and accessible.
The fenced in back yard was great for our dogs! We loved it. We enjoyed our stay in Hannah's home - it was convenient to Elkins walkable to most restaurants, and amenitiesand we enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the mornings and watching the cute neighborhood goings-ons. Thanks Hannah for your hospitality! Hannah's place is close to town, and near a small neighborhood park.
Nice, quiet neighborhood. It is an older home, very cute and comfortable. The bed is a bit of a tighter squeeze for two 6' tall people but, overall comfortable. Had a great stay. Hannah's home is beautiful and very well located. Hannah herself is accommodating, gracious, and quick to reply to questions.
We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend. We purchased our needed food from Walmart and Kroger and it was like only 15 minutes drive. The view was so nice! Fantastic view and great place for a retreat.
Took my employees here for the night for a retreat away and we had a fantastic time. Plenty of room for 8 guys and lots to do. We had a firepit going, played pool, cooked steaks, and drank some fine bourbon. Price was perfect and would come back again! The space was amazing. We had a 50th wedding anniversary party with about 70 people. The space was accommodating and the views were spectacular for our guests.
June and her husband were very nice, welcoming people. No picture could do this place justice. The views are spectacular, the house is comfortable and the relaxation was real! I highly recommend staying here and hope to come back in the future! This place has a view to die for. The place is very well kept and clean. All of the beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. The sunset was amazing and the being able to use a grill was fantastic.
Would highly recommend June place. Plenty of space and bathrooms for our group of nine. To say the scenery was breathtaking is an understatement. Loved the house. It was very clean and had everything I needed. It would be a plus if the trails were marked. Hope to come back again next fall. What a great place to stay and enjoy the family! Very responsive Host! Loads of amenities, goes over and beyond what you would expect.
Very clean home! I would recommend you drive to the establishment via Elkins, not Belington. Much better road up the mountain. The view is absolutely amazing. Thanks again, June, for everything!! Our stay at the house was incredible. I took some employees out for a labor day trip. Plenty of room, incredible location, the view is amazing. Great place for a fire and relaxing and lots of hiking nearby. Super clean and exactly as expected. The house is old so it has some quirks, but the host is super responsive and friendly, so we had no issues settling in.
Overall, we would highly recommend this place! We felt so lucky to have found this great old house in the best of all locations in Elkins. We could walk over to the college, through the city park, and over to the downtown area in just minutes. We loved the mix of old clawfoot bathtub and new great internet. The house was spotless and comfortable. Tanna and Greg are fantastic hosts. Tanna's place is a beautiful old structure that has been loved and cared for by it's owners.
My family, wife and 3 daughters in there 20s enjoyed our weekend at Tanna's very much. Beds are comfortable and we enjoyed interacting within this eclectic space. I would highly recommend it for any one looking to stay the area.
A wonderful house in a great central location. We spent a quick spring break in Elkins, WV in this house. The layout a bit quirky but that's part of the fun. With three bedrooms, there's plenty of room for a family of 6 or three couples.
There even a random keyboard and guitar for the musically inclined. The kitchen is fully equipped; we made dinner two nights during our stay. There is a health food store close by as well as a Kroger.
Elkins turned out to be a great home base. But we were also content to stay inside the house during a rainy morning, reading and relaxing. You do need to remove your shoes upon entering the house, so take along a comfy pair of bedroom slippers which is always nice to wear after a day of hiking.
This home immediately makes you feel like it is your own. It is beautifully decorated, and so comfortable. It easily sleeps 6 plus a couch for 7.
She provided lots of amenities such as utensils, tea, coffee, toiletries, etc. She was always available for communication and flexible with our schedule. Five stars. A beautiful place with many interesting books and cool antiques! Amazing hosts and very clean easy to find and food all around! Great cabin to unplug and unwind! Hot tub was wonderful, access to the river had been mowed which was great. We all had a fantastic time. Plenty of towels and kitchen stuff. The place is as advertised.
It's definitely a little ways out so make sure you pack provisions or get comfortable driving to the local Kroger. Also, the drive there was absolutely gorgeous. It was nice to feel off the grid for a few nights but we still had WiFi and plenty of dvds were at the house for entertainment.
We also had two toddlers along for our trip and they loved the boxes of toys available. The house was very clean and Larisa was always quick to respond. Had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was the perfect little getaway for the family to enjoy together. Came to the house with a group of 8 friends 4 couples. The house fit us perfectly, and it was very comfortable to eat together, hang out in the living room, hot tub, etc. The house is incredibly well stocked, with lots of kitchen supplies, DVDs, puzzles, games, etc.
We had a great time exploring the area, and went on a beautiful hike and a rafting trip. We all agreed we could have used an extra day or two to spend lazing around the house enjoying all it has to offer and the beautiful and relaxing location. My dog stayed too, and he had an amazing time as well! Larisa is a very responsive and helpful host. Booking was easy, and she answered all my questions. There were a few pretty minor maintenance issues e. I definitely recommend staying here.
The cabin was fully equipped for a great weekend retreat. Very remote, but easy to find if you follow the directions. We had a great time at Larisa's beautiful house. It was very well organized and her instructions are very detailed and helpful! The house is on the river, and you have beautiful views from all the windows:. What a beautiful getaway!
The house has more than enough room for a very comfortable stay and is well equipped for practically every circumstance.
Even though we were stuck inside due to inclement weather, my family including my young children had plenty to do-we even built a puzzle together in front of the fire place!
As a bit of a "neat freak," I have to say, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the property. There are beautiful views surrounding the property, which can be seen around the huge, wraparound porch.
We were a little nervous about the road down to the peppery, but did not run into any problems, even in bad weather. I Would highly recommend this property and host. Michelle is superhost, her place is amazing, we love the location and the area around the place. And she is such a great friendly host.
She greeted us with generous, warmth heart. And the breakfast in the morning it just perfect, make your own breakfast is awesome. Nothing to be complaint everything perfect. We will recommend this place and for sure we will be back. A sweet little house with good space, a full stocked kitchen, cozy beds and is very clean and cared for!
Wonderful place to stay in the Elkins area. Our host was great to deal with and the accommodations were very comfortable. I booked this place on vacation to West Virginia and found Michelle was really warm and very friendly. Nice and clean x-rider scary video. The cottage is a cute, quaint little place with everything you and it's right in the middle of everything.
No matter what you want to do or where you want to go it's only minutes away. Check-in was super easy and convenient and Michelle couldn't have been a better host! Can't wait until next time! This 3 bedroom cottage was very spacious and clean. Michelle is extremely friendly and has great recommendations about what to do in and around the area.
The house is stocked with everything and Michelle had lots of make your own breakfast options set out for us. Great place to stay in Elkins. Anne and John were great- communication was very responsive and the checkin process was seamless.
The house is very spacious! We were 2 families - the master has an open walk in closet area that was perfect for a travel crib. And with so many bedrooms we had plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably! Super accommodating host with a spectacular location lots of things within walking distance and of course the college campus! Much larger then I expected with very spacious common areas!
This place truly exceeded my expectations. John and Ann have the place set up perfectly for a group to hang out. Two tables perfect for cards or games, a great dining table where we all enjoyed our breakfast together and a cozy couch space.
I especially liked that there was a dividing door between the common spaces and the bedrooms so that those who went to bed early weren't disturbed by the rest of us who stayed up into the wee hours playing board games. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay. We were looking for a house that was spacious, comfortable and clean and Sweet Annie was exactly that. We found more activities to enjoy in the area than we could fit in one weekend.
We hope to be back and stay here again. Spacious, one-floor, four bedroom cottage that was close to everything you would want to do in Elkins. Hosts were very helpful and attentive. Having everything on one-floor was perfect for our elderly folks to get around. John and Ann were very accommodating and there place was a great fit for our family to stay!
It felt like home away from home! Highly recommended!!! Great staff, they treat you like family-couldn't say more about this place!! Needs to be more of them!! I was very tired when I arrived and the staff were so kind and welcoming. They quickly showed me around, and recommended were to get food within walking distance.
Musician friends had recommended the hostel, so I knew to bring ear plugs! Super clean and safe. Cute town! Thanks so much!!
As it turned out, it all went well and was a positive experience that exceeded my expectations. I am quite glad I decided to give it a go. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The hostel bunk rooms, bathrooms and common areas were clean and well set up to facilitate a comfortable stay.
The bunk was Now the real gem of Brewstel is the awesome little brew pub downstairs. I wonder if that had anything to do with the bunk seeming so comfortable? Super cute Victorian home full of antiques in a beautiful neighborhood!
Definitely enjoyed our stay here! This cottage has everything we needed at our finger tips. It is conveniently located to Davis and Elkins college. It is bright and very clean with a great workable kitchen for doing some cooking.
We would definitely stay again. The cottage was in a perfect location for us to attend events at Davis and Elkins College. The house was compact but had plenty of space for the three of us and the parking was great. Everything was very clean and neat and we enjoyed our stay. Also close to Walgreens and CVS. Walkable distance to a fresh produce stand and Subway. Highway noise was a bit loud at night, so earplugs are a good idea. The house was clean and mostly updated. The beds were comfortable.
Good value for the money- owner is easy to work with. Sheela made us feel very welcome. Left the key on the kitchen table and a nice set of instructions. Information on internet connection, parking. We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The house was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and everything was styled so nicely! You can tell that a lot of love has gone into the remodeling of the cottage.
It was a perfectly lovely visit and we felt like we were at home. We would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing and affordable place to stay and will most definitely be back ourselves! We were on a golfing trip and visiting family in three nearby towns. This cottage was in the perfect central location. The full sized fridge helped us store drinks and snacks.
The AC works great! The owners of this cottage have taken extra care to completely renovate this adorable cottage and bring it back to life. The cottage was clean, the furniture comfortable and extra amenities were nice surprises!
In a town where cell coverage and wifi is scarce, this cottage always had full wifi! The owner graciously went way out of her way to communicate with and accommodate us when our flight was drastically changed. Personal attention like that is why we will return If interested in golf It's a small little golf course that is in great shape and the best bargain we have found in West Virginia.
Another great stay! Love how easy it is to walk to the drug store or local restaurants Scotties or the Graceland for lunch! The Cottage is very clean and super comfortable.

The loft area has seating for five, a desk, microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker and electric kettle. This space is ideal for a family or group of four traveling together.
We are truly a well kept secret. People from our own town often say, "I had no idea this was back here," when they visit. Our house is just three blocks off of a main street, but located on a quiet, dead end street.
